REGINO COLLAZO is an accomplished fashion leader and creative force with a proven track record for launching, revitalizing, and growing designer brands ( BILL BLASS, ELLIE TAHARI ) luxury private labels ( BERGDORF GOODMAN, BARNEYS NEW YORK, BURBERRY) and better brands ( WHITE HOUSE BLACK MARKET, and SIMPLY VERA VERA WANG). He creates a distinct product vision and develops the right teams and cross-functional partnerships resulting in success on the selling floor.
In 2017, Regino joined WHBM as Senior Design Director. Recruited to infuse a modern sensibility into this feminine, classic brand, he has been responsible for all divisions of the company. He was moved strategically throughout each division improving, clarifying, and creating streamlined improvements that consistently exceeded sales plans. At the end of his tenure as Senior Design Director of Sportswear, he was driving 35 percent of the total Omni volume of WHBM.
As Vice President of Design for Men’s and Women’s Apparel at G.H. BASS & CO., Regino was responsible for leading the Sportswear and Accessories design teams. Under his direction, the company experienced a revitalized international image online, across media channels, and in its 60 retail stores.
In 2007, his success with Kohl’s Simply Vera Vera Wang collection attracted the attention of JONES NEW YORK. The company recruited him to lead the creative direction of NINE WEST clothing where he re-imagined the brand for a trend-obsessed woman. The retail response was immediate with stores exceeding their sales goals for the first time in years.
At KOHL’S he helped establish the company’s first NYC design studio. Regino was responsible for 360-degree development building and leading an international team of 20. Working hand in hand with designer VERA WANG he was responsible for all categories of the contemporary ready-to-wear and accessories collection SIMPLY VERA VERA WANG. He simultaneously led the design revamp of the ELLE collection, a contemporary sportswear and accessories brand in collaboration with ELLE MAGAZINE.
Working at MAY COMPANY he directed and launched IDEOLOGY, the company’s foray into sportswear design for young, fashion-savvy women. The brand emerged as the most successful private line in May Company’s portfolio. During his career, he has also created programs for BERGDORF GOODMAN, BARNEYS NEW YORK, and BURBERRY.
Regino began his design career with ELIE TAHARI where he helped create a new sportswear aesthetic that redefined the brand’s identity in all divisions. He also designed the BILL BLASS COLLECTION where he worked alongside the iconic Mr. Blass to develop the company’s entry into the contemporary sportswear market.
